Promenade to the end of North Pier to enjoy the entertainment that awaits in the Sunset Lounge and Carousel Bar, taking in the cafes and Kiosks along the way. Not forgetting North Pier Theatre at the end of the Pier – home to a variety of shows throughout the year. Plus of course the Merrie England Bar and amusement arcades at the Pier entrance.

The Good The Bad and The Queen
Saturday 1 December, 7-10pm
Made from the finest of musical royalty, The Good the Bad and the Queen are a project from King of Britpop himself, Damon Albarn.
After making his name with Blur and then stepping up his game with the critically acclaimed Gorillaz, Albarn has made a name for himself as one of the most accomplished and innovative musicians around. With Simon Tong (The Verve), Paul Simonon (The Clash), and Tony Allen, legendary drummer of Africa 70.
See the Starlings at Blackpool North Pier
North Pier is one of a few places in the country where you can see this amazing sight.
Throughout the months of late autumn and winter, Blackpool North Pier is a roost to tens of thousands of starlings. Each night when they arrive at dusk they create a spectacular display known as a murmuration. They swoop and glide as one huge, black mass as they fly to the pier to bed down for the night.

Live Entertainment at the Merrie England Bar
Live music every weekend from Friday – Sunday eve, and every day during the Illuminations season.
The Merrie England Bar is at the Promenade entrance to Blackpool North Pier, not far from Tower Festival Headland.
It’s a warm and friendly bar at the front of North Pier where you can sit, relax and watch the world go by. Showing all major sporting events on the large screens within the bar.
With all your favourite local artists: The Coustics, Emma Louise Jackson, DJ Ian Jackson and many more!
The Joey Blower Show – 25th Anniversary – every weekend!
Whether it’s a stag or hen do, birthday, holiday or just a day out with your mates, don’t miss the best party in town at the Merrie England Bar at North Pier.
Joey and the gang provide a mix of comedy, wind-ups, competitions, live music, top tunes and much more. The Joey Blower Show is not for the easily offended!
DJ Johnny Vee keeps the party going while Britain’s Got Talent FINALIST Steven Hall shows off his spectacular dance moves – seeing is believing!!
Plus there’s a chance to win £1000 at the end of the season with the weekly heats for the Merrie England talent search, Pubstars!
The Sunset Lounge and Carousel Bar
Listen to traditional seaside music from the organist Trevor Raven, have a dance or sit back and relax! The Sunset Lounge is at the end of Blackpool North Pier – with amazing views over the sea it’s an open air Victorian sun lounge.
Songs from the shows, classic hits and popular music from today are all performed by Trevor on the organ. You can see Trevor from Tuesday to Thursday from 12pm-4pm from July until the end of the season. Sessions are subject to weather and occasional closures for events on the pier.
The Carousel Bar is adjacent to the Theatre and the Sunset Lounge, and a place to relax with your family. There’s a fully licensed bar, delicious snack bar and live music every weekend.
What you’ll find at Blackpool North Pier
Promenade along an Original Heritage Pier
Blackpool North Pier is an amazing example of Victorian architecture. You can explore it’s history here, and find out what makes it unique. To ‘Promenade’ was originally to dress in your fine clothes and take a stroll in a popular place. Like the seafront – or a pier like this one.
There are traditional children’s rides at both ends of Blackpool North Pier where your little ones can enjoy the fun of the fair!
You’ll spot the Helter Skelter from the promenade. There’s also a beautiful original merry go round too, plus various other rides.
North Pier Theatre
There’s a different show for everyone at the Theatre at the end of Blackpool North Pier. Shows for 2018 included Cinderella, Dick Whittington, the Rat Pack, Sunset Cinema and many more.
The Amusement Arcade at Blackpool North Pier opens all year round. Test your skills with a selection of video games, fruit machines and prize machines, games of skill, and pinball. There are even machines for the very little ones – there’s something for all the family at the Pier arcade. The arcade is open daily from 10am.
Cafes and Kiosks
From the entrance to the end of Blackpool North Pier you’ll find an interesting assortment of kiosks, plus plenty of places to eat and drink too.
There’s the British seaside favourite of fish and chips – and of course ice cream. In the ‘North Perk’ cafe you can choose from meals, sandwiches, cakes and drinks.
Various other kiosks sell gifts, sweets, records and clothes, and no self respecting pier would be complete without a resident fortune teller! Visit Gypsy Petulengro to see what the future holds for you!

- The Merrie England bar on North Pier is open daily until late.
- The deck, Carousel, Sun Lounge and Theatre are all open for the season.
